GUIDEWisconsin's Sex Offender Registry is kept by the Department of Corrections. People convicted of certain offenses — generally those committed on or after December 25, 1993 — are required to register, and the registry is the public's official way to check.
What it is not: it is not a list of everyone ever arrested, and it is not a full criminal history. The Department of Corrections has not assessed the specific risk of any individual listed, and an address shown in the registry can be out of date.
How to search: on the official site you can search by name, or by location — a city, county, or ZIP code. The site asks you to accept its conditions of use first, and the search happens there, not in this app: this app keeps no registry records of its own. Registry information can change at any time — the official registry is always the authority. If you believe registry information is inaccurate, contact the Sex Offender Registry Program at 608-240-5830.
Get notified: the Department of Corrections offers free community notifications — an email when a registrant moves near an address you choose. Sign up on the official site, below.
